My Belief
My belief is that all children are creative.
I believe all children should learn how to use their voice.
I believe the lives of all children can be uplifted with books.
I believe children need to know how to take responsibility for their actions, good or bad.
My belief is that a childhood without a good cookie is missing something.
But do you know also what I believe?
I believe that you are creative, too.
I believe that you can learn how to make up simple, interactive stories with your kids.
My belief is that a well-written children’s book can touch you and uplift you, too.
I believe that your life is also missing something without a good cookie once in a while.
Sometimes, I worry because it seems like kids are growing up too fast, as if they have no interest in being a carefree kid.
Does it feel like that to you?
I understand that some kids don’t have the luxury of being “carefree.”
That makes me sad.
But so many kids seem to be wrapped up in things that take them away from the simple joys of being young.
Don’t you think that kids should stay open to playing and pretending and using their imagination for as long as they can?
They need to show the grown-ups how to do that, too.
